Aunt Chick’s Butterscotch Cutout Cookies with White Chocolate Dip
A smooth and sweet Butterscotch flavoring is what you will find in this cookie recipe. The perfect cookie recipe for a chilly fall day served with a cup of apple cider. These cookies do not need much decorating either. Just a dip into some white chocolate will help them melt in your mouth.
- 1 cup butterscotch flavored chips
- 1 cup softened butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
Melt butterscotch chips over low heat, stirring constantly, until smooth (3 to 5 minutes), and let cool for 3 to 5 minutes. Mix with beater: butter, sugar, and brown sugar. Add egg, milk, and vanilla. Add melted butterscotch chips and mix well. Add flour and mix by hand. Divide dough in half and wrap in plastic food wrap. Refrigerate until firm (at least 1 hour). Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/8 to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 5 to 8 minutes or until edges is lightly browned.
When cooled dip 1/2 the cookies in tempered white chocolate. (Melt chocolate using a double boiler and melting white chocolate chips)
