Cowboy & Indian Cookies Decorating Instructions
Before you start, you will need –
FOR COWBOY & INDIAN (use Gingercookie recipe)
- Indian Cookie Cutter found in Aunt Chick’s Special Days Set
- Decorator (found in our store)
- Royal Icing or Edible Paint
- Artists “fine” brush (found in our store)
- Colored sugars – red, blue, green (found in our store)
- Food Coloring Gels (found in our store)
- Foodoodler Markers (found in our store)
COWBOY ONLY - Cowboy Cookie Cutter found in Aunt Chick’s Jolly Days Set
- Small bowls for the corn syrup or egg whites
- Crushed chocolate wafer cookies or graham crackers
- Coconut
DECORATING YOUR EAGLE CHIEF INDIAN
- Wait for the cookies to have cooled to the touch.
- Mix up the preferred colors of Royal Icing (for recipe see below). Pipe on circles for the headdress that you want to add sanding sugar to.
- Use sprinkle on sanding sugar to these areas while the icing is still wet.
- When that area is the dry pipe on the rest of the feathers and headdress in alternating colors.
- When all icing is dry use your Foodoodler markers or paint on food coloring gel for face paint, eyes and lips.
DECORATING YOUR MANLY COWBOY
- Wait for the cookies to have cooled to the touch.
- Apply egg white mixture (or corn syrup) to shirt and jeans. Sprinkle on preferred color sanding sugar (let dry)
- Mix up the preferred colors of Royal Icing (for recipe see below). Pipe icing on chaps and apply crushed cookie, graham crackers, or coconut (let dry).
- When that area is the dry pipe on scarf, gloves, and hat (the hat can also be painted on with food coloring or foodoodler).
- When all icing is dry use your Foodoodler markers or paint on the food coloring gel for eyes, cheeks, and lips.
